This song has been covered by many people (including Linda Ronstadt, The Carpenters, Johnny Cash, and Westlife), but I still find the original Eagles version (below), the best.   My recording of this is not very good I admit.   For a start I am holding the mic instead of having it resting in the gooseneck I have from the ceiling (causing some mic noise).  I also needed to warm up before singing this so the transition from soft to powerful section is quite harsh.   This is down for re-recording at some stage (when I do – I will post the new version to this post in addition to the one here).
